Informed Consent & Disclosure
No health care is without risks or is guaranteed to be successful. Per Nevada ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 295, our office is required to notify you of the following provisions relating to the scope of services by providers of complementary and alternative healthcare:
1. Dr. Priscila Brannigan is a naturopathic doctor (ND) and not a medical doctor (MD). She is trained in naturopathic medicine, a distinct and alternative healthcare practice, for which she attended a 4-year AANMC & CNME accredited naturopathic medical school approved by the US Department of Education. The state of Nevada does not recognize her as a licensed, certified or registered provider of healthcare. She maintains an active board-approved Naturopathic Medical License and NPI in California state where she can prescribe, diagnose and treat medical conditions.
2. Dr. Priscila Brannigan is not a primary care physician (PCP) and cannot fulfill those duties in Nevada.
We strongly encourage you to have a PCP in addition to using our services. If you are a cancer patient, you will be required to have an oncologist to receive adjunctive care from our clinic.
3. Dr. Priscila Brannigan does not recommend that you discontinue any other treatment or care provided by any licensed healthcare professional. All clients must notify their other healthcare providers of the naturopathic services they are to receive through our clinic.
4. There is no expressed or implied guarantee of any specific outcome with your treatment provided by Dr. Brannigan. The care provided may or may not be a treatment for a specific disease, and may be preventive in nature, designed to improve the overall health and well-being of the patient.
5. Dr. Brannigan always strive to provide full disclosure of all information relevant to a person’s care, and to answer all questions a patient may have to a patient’s satisfaction. The more one understands, the more fully one can participate in one’s own healing. We encourage all questions regarding any aspect of care. Please feel free to ask about any aspect of care, future care, expected outcome and what to do if any difficulties of possible negative outcomes should arise.
6. Potential risks of naturopathic medicine include pain, discomfort, allergic reaction of prescribed herbs, supplements, medications or aggravation of pre-existing symptoms. Please inform us immediately if any such symptoms occur, generally within the first 48 hours of initiation.
7. Potential benefits of naturopathic medicine include restoration of the body’s optimal functioning capacity, relief of pain and symptoms of disease, assistance in injury and disease recovery, prevention of disease or its progression and optimizing your health.
